I think even unmated ducks can lay infertile eggs, so I can see no reason why a hybrid shouldn't too. But I would welcome any more authorative opinion on this matter.Dave Appletonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15077880196249359409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8553998527275861247.post-88258258254348951092017-08-26T11:44:21.453+01:002017-08-26T11:44:21.453+01:00E.g. http://www.zandvleitrust.org.za/art-duck%20br...E.g. http://www.zandvleitrust.org.za/art-duck%20breeding%20and%20nesting%20info%20required.htmlindiebiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08682495327732720390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8553998527275861247.post-9793522916733870182017-08-26T11:40:04.478+01:002017-08-26T11:40:04.478+01:00Thanks for this site! (I'm trying to figure out if a hybrid, while sterile, will still lay eggs, I hope and expect so).<br />At Zandvlei - Cape Town - we have a problem with mallards crossbreeding with yellow bill ducks. I'm not sure of the details, but if you want, I can collect some info?indiebiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08682495327732720390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8553998527275861247.post-89609370535675948762017-06-12T23:43:58.061+01:002017-06-12T23:43:58.061+01:00Thanks Bruce - appreciate your kind words. Yes, actually I have been thinking that there are 2-3 relevant sites like this that probably warrant linking to from this project, that being one of them. There may be others that I haven't come across too.
